How do I care for my Swisstrailbell?

Care instructions:

The bell body of the swisstrailbell is made of sheet steel. The outside is galvanized and painted or powder-coated, which largely protects the swisstrailbell from rust. However, the interior is not completely covered by the protective layer. Some rust inside the bell is therefore normal. As additional protection, we recommend regularly rubbing the swisstrailbell with a soft cloth with a little penetrating oil (WD40), Vaseline or silicone spray inside and out. Brush off dirt on the belt with a soft brush. Rising fibers on the tape can easily be burned off with a lighter. This is how a swisstrailbell can withstand years of hard use.
